Tucko is made by one developer in Austria. Updates arrive in the app on their own, and each one is listed here. Found a bug or missing something? Tell me, and it may well end up on this page.
Copy now, paste where you want.
- Changed⌘C in Tucko only copies now. Press ⌘V wherever you want the items, in any app. Return and double-click still paste straight into the app you were using.
- FixedSeveral images copied at once sometimes arrived as just one in Pages, if Tucko had been opened from a browser. They now paste together in Pages, Notes and other Mac apps, and one by one when you switch to a chat or browser.
A small fix for the preview.
- FixedBrowsing the preview with the arrow keys could cut off the bubble, or leave its top uncovered, while it resized for an item of a different size. It now keeps its full outline the whole way.
A speed release. Nothing new to learn: the places where Tucko made you wait, or worked harder than it needed to, now don’t.
- FixedScrolling past lots of old links could line up minutes of page pictures in the background. Only the links you stop on get one now, and links you just copied always go first.
- FixedLarge image previews open faster, and the second time instantly.
- FixedThe preview follows its card smoothly while the shelf scrolls.
- FixedDragging cards out starts right away, even with several large images. Tucko gets the files ready the moment you press a card.
- FixedChanging the moodboard layout or background no longer makes the controls stutter while it redraws.
- ChangedCard pictures of new image items take less space, so they save faster and the history file stays smaller. Pictures with transparency are kept exactly as before.
- ChangedThe metal edge on the focused card rests while Tucko is in the background, instead of keeping the graphics chip busy.
Copy and paste, tested properly. I ran real copies from browsers, TextEdit, spreadsheets and design tools through Tucko and pasted them into chat apps, browsers and text editors, then fixed every place where something got lost.
- FixedSeveral images or files pasted into Claude, ChatGPT, Slack or Figma with one ⌘V now all arrive. That includes a single item holding several files from Finder, which used to give the chat only the first one.
- FixedThe same works for ChatGPT or Claude open in Safari or Firefox. Before, Safari handed the chat no image files at all.
- FixedPasting something back into the app it came from keeps it editable: Google Docs and Notion formatting, Keynote and Office shapes, other apps’ own formats. Safari links keep their page titles.
- FixedText copied from Word, Excel, Pages or Numbers showed up as an image, because those apps add a picture of the text. It’s a text item now, and dragging it gives text, not a picture.
- FixedCopying several text items at once kept only the plain text. Links and formatting now come along.
- FixedAfter the second text shortcut in a row, whatever you had copied before was gone. Tucko now always puts it back, and leaves it alone if you copied something new in the meantime.
- Fixed⌘⇧1–9 (paste item 1–9 as plain text) never worked, and ⌘1–9 didn’t work on AZERTY keyboards.
- ChangedPasting files as plain text gives their paths instead of file:// addresses.
- ChangedThe history file now shrinks again after old items are removed, and cleaning up a large history is faster.
A small one, but it changes how you hear about every update after it.
- NewWhen a new version is out, Tucko sends a normal macOS notification. Click it and the update window opens with the notes and an Install button. Until now the update window just appeared in front of whatever you were working in.
- NewWhile an update is waiting, the menu bar menu shows “Install Tucko …” with a small dot, so you can also pick it up later from there.
- ChangedIf notifications are turned off for Tucko, the update window still comes to the front like before. Nothing gets missed.
Coming from 0.1.6 or earlier? You’ll see the old update window this one time. The notification starts with the next update.
Licence fixes. I went through every way activation could go wrong and fixed the ones that could lock out someone who paid.
- FixedMoving to a new Mac, or restoring one from a backup, could lock Tucko for good, because the copied Keychain entry belonged to the old Mac. Tucko now spots that, gives the new Mac its own trial and asks you to activate it with your key.
- FixedIf the licence check couldn’t finish right after you activated, Tucko locked. Now the rest of your trial keeps running until the check gets through.
- FixedA hotel or café Wi-Fi login page, or a short Keychain hiccup, could lock an activated Mac. Only a clear “this key was revoked” answer from the licence server does that now.
- FixedWhen a key couldn’t be deactivated, it stayed stuck in the app. It’s now removed on your Mac so you can enter a new one.
- FixedThe menu bar icon disappeared when the trial ended, which made the licence window hard to find. It stays put now.
- ChangedUpdate windows open in front instead of behind other apps.
Trial, licence keys and in-app updates: the pieces that make Tucko something you can actually buy.
- NewSeven-day free trial with every feature. No account, no card.
- NewLicence keys. Buy once and activate up to three Macs. Deactivate a Mac in Settings to move the licence to another one.
- NewIn-app updates. Tucko checks once a day. Every update is signed, so it will only ever install builds I made and signed.
- ChangedWhen the trial ends, Tucko stops recording but your history stays on your Mac. Activate and it’s all still there.
On 0.1.4? That version can’t update itself. Download 0.1.5 or later once, and updates come through the app from then on.
The first version on tucko.app. In the week before, Tucko went through more than fifty test builds on my own Mac. Some of what got fixed along the way:
- FixedCopying several images and pasting them into Claude, ChatGPT, Slack or Discord delivered one image or none. Those apps take one image per paste, so Tucko now pastes them one after another from a single ⌘V. Press Esc to stop.
- FixedDragging text and images together into Notes dropped the text.
- FixedImages copied from Notes showed up as an empty card. They now get a real preview.
- FixedScreenshots from CleanShot and ChatGPT were counted as Files instead of Images.
- FixedTapping Space quickly to preview made the preview blink.
- NewSeveral cards can share one text shortcut, and they paste in order.
- NewA Shortcuts tab that lists every card with a text shortcut.
- NewSave Image As… for image and video cards.
- NewNight Glass: a frosted night-blue look, next to Light, Dark and System.
